Resolved, that all the conclusions reached by the Con-

ference shall be presented to the other nations not here re-

presented, and that their co-operation be asked with a view

to the advancement of such a noble cause.

To be inserted after the 1st. paragraph of Rule VIII.

The resolution referred to in the present rule is one

of such character as is destined to form the subject of in-

ternational agreement and consequently to require a careful

study beforehand; and does not include a resolution of-

fered in the course of the sitting of the Conference for

transaction of business.

With a view to assisting China in her efforts to restrict

the importation of opium into her dominions, the Governments

represented at the Conference are prepared to signify their

adhesion to the ongagement embodied in the Agreement signed

between the British and Chinese Governments on ay 8th, 1911,

to the effect that chests of Indian opium, unsealed and un-

accompanied by the special numbered permits issued by the

Indian Government, shall be refused entry into any of the

Treaty
